The story collection “Lava,” comprising eight stories by acclaimed film and advertisement director and scriptwriter Emcy Joseph, was officially released in Kochi. The release event featured director, actor, and scriptwriter Sreenivasan, who presented the first copy to Malayalam film actress Anna Ben. The book is published by Green Books.

Emcy Joseph, the founder of the Kochi-based advertising agency Peraka Media, is known for directing the film “Vikruthi,” which received widespread acclaim and won Suraj Venjaramoodu the state award for Best Actor in 2020.

“Lava” offers a collection of contemporary tales reflecting modern jobs, workplaces, travel experiences, and digital life, resonating with both new and older generations. The stories included are “Saayipp Tony’s Gun,” “Complaint Number 1166/2023,” “Poopparuthi,” “Message of the Deceased,” “Lava,” “Kattile Karimpanabhan,” “Kallan Decent Aanu,” “Rahel and Lawrence,” and “Rosetta.” Each narrative showcases how a scriptwriter and filmmaker’s touch can transform a story into a cinematic experience.
